|Database Integration and Implementation
Smart Software makes the integration of SmartForecasts with your host database easy. Many of our customers connect SmartForecasts directly to their Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and IBM DB2 databases, as well as supply chain management and ERP systems from other vendors, such as SAP, Epicor and Sage. In fact, Smart Software partners Epicor and Sage have developed their own custom interfaces with SmartForecasts. In addition, SmartForecasts supports both ODBC and native connectivity links.
SmartForecasts has an optional database integration module that facilitates the connection of SmartForecasts to your host database. SmartForecasts’ database “wizards” make direct interfacing with your host database easy, providing step-by-step directions. Using SmartForecasts’ tools, some companies have implemented the interface with host databases (and the SCM and ERP systems they support) in only a few weeks. After integration, the database module continues to yield benefitsfacilitating your ability to use and organize data in SmartForecasts and report results back to other planning systems.
Need custom interface work? Smart Software has years of experience building custom database interfaces for its customers. For example, recent engagements include building a custom interface connecting SmartForecasts to DB2 running on an AS/400 system, and creating an interface to a J.D. Edwards ERP system.
