Webinar: Maximize Revenue and Minimize Inventory Costs

Epicor Smart Inventory Optimization includes the ability to create “optimized” inventory policies. The Optimize function models inventory performance at scale, prescribing the service level targets and corresponding min/max/safety settings for all items. You’ll reduce the likelihood of stock out and capture more sales while reducing excess inventory. Our Webinar explains how optimization works and how it compares to traditional approaches that pick an arbitrary service level target. We will show a live demo so you can see it in action.

Please join our webinar featuring Greg Hartunian, CEO of Smart Software, who will explain  how optimization works and how it compares to traditional approaches that pick an arbitrary service level target.  He will show a live demo so you can see it in action.

Automatic Forecasting for Time Series Demand Projections

The Smart Forecaster

Pursuing best practices in demand planning,

forecasting and inventory optimization

Improve Forecast Accuracy, Eliminate Excess Inventory, & Maximize Service Levels

In this video tutorial Dr. Thomas Willemain, co–Founder and SVP Research at Smart Software, presents Automatic Forecasting for Time Series Demand Projections, a specialized algorithmic tournament to determine an appropriate time series model and estimate the parameters to compute the best forecasts methods. Automatic forecasts of large numbers of time series are frequently used in business, some have trend either up or down, and some have seasonality so they are cyclic, and each of those specific patterns requires a suitable technical approach, and an appropriate statistical forecasting method.  Tom explains how the tournament computes the best forecasts methods and works through a practical example.

Everybody forecasts to drive inventory planning. It’s just a question of how.

Often companies will insist that they “don’t use forecasts” to plan inventory. They often use reorder point methods and are struggling to improve on-time delivery, inventory turns, and other KPIs. While they don’t think of what they are doing as explicitly forecasting, they certainly use estimates of future demand to develop reorder points such as min/max.
