Het nutsbedrijf biedt een onmisbare service, de continue, betrouwbare beschikbaarheid van elektrische stroom. Service staat voorop. En de sleutel tot deze service is de beschikbaarheid van een groot aantal serviceonderdelen - meer dan 250.000 - om de faciliteiten 24\/7 draaiende te houden.<\/p>\n<p>Het hulpprogramma lanceerde een strategisch Supply Chain Optimization (SCO)-initiatief om twintig jaar oude legacy-software te vervangen. IBM Maximo werd geselecteerd om kerninkoop, voorraad- en magazijnbeheer en werk- en activabeheer te leveren. Extra best-in-class mogelijkheden zouden worden toegevoegd door de selectie en integratie van commerci\u00eble kant-en-klare applicaties. De belangrijkste hiervan was het systeem voor voorraadoptimalisatie, dat zowel prognoses \/ vraagplanning als voorraadoptimalisatie omvat. Het hulpprogramma voerde een uitgebreide RFP (Request for Proposals) uit om de softwareselectie te stimuleren.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Vereisten en slimme softwareselectie<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Verkopers werd gevraagd om schriftelijk te reageren op een breed scala aan functionele vereisten en vervolgens - op uitnodiging - persoonlijk te demonstreren met behulp van klantgegevens. Prognose en vraagplanning, voorraadoptimalisatie en rapportage en analyse werden allemaal diepgaand overwogen. De lijsten met vereisten zijn lang, maar een paar kritische mogelijkheden waren vooral belangrijk:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maak gebruik van bewezen, ingebouwde statistische analyses die automatisch de vraag modelleren en nauwkeurige resultaten produceren voor alle soorten vraag;<\/li>\n<li>Modelleer en balanceer op serviceniveau gebaseerd voorraadbeleid, over meerdere locaties en op meerdere aggregatieniveaus, om een optimaal voorraadvoorraadbeleid te produceren;<\/li>\n<li>Effectief plannen voor intermitterende vraag, het meest cruciaal voor de planning van reserveonderdelen;<\/li>\n<li>Effectief schalen om automatisch planningsvereisten voor meer dan 250.000 afzonderlijke items aan te pakken;<\/li>\n<li>Gemakkelijk te leren, te gebruiken en samen te werken;<\/li>\n<li>Aantoonbaar vermogen om te integreren met de enterprise \/ supply chain management-systemen van de klant naar keuze.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smart werd geselecteerd vanwege zijn prestaties in al deze categorie\u00ebn. Natuurlijk waren er enkele uitblinkers. Eerst nodigde Smart tijdens de live demonstratie een lid van het evaluatieteam uit om Smart Inventory Optimization aan te sturen. Binnen een paar minuten waren ze in staat om via internet in te loggen, de voorraadprestaties van geselecteerde artikelen te beoordelen, artikelen te identificeren die te veel voorradig waren en zich te richten op optimale serviceniveaus die aanzienlijke mogelijkheden voor voorraadvermindering lieten zien. Dit was een dwingende oefening in bruikbaarheid.<\/p>\n<p>Ten tweede, Smart&#039;s unieke behandeling van intermitterende vraag, een gepatenteerde, door vakgenoten beoordeelde en in de praktijk bewezen methodologie, toonde een effectieve en nauwkeurige planning van het serviceniveau aan, waarbij de geplande serviceniveaus op de meest onvoorspelbare onderdelen consequent werden bereikt.<\/p>\n<p>En ten derde, Smart&#039;s bewezen ervaring met het opzetten van geautomatiseerde integraties met de bedrijfssystemen van onze klanten naar keuze, wekte het vertrouwen dat we de software-oplossingsarchitectuur van het hulpprogramma zouden ondersteunen en integreren met Maximo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Resultaten tot nu toe<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>De implementatie van Smart Inventory Planning &amp; Optimization vond plaats binnen 90 dagen na de start van het project. In de daaropvolgende zes maanden maakte Smart IP&amp;O de aanpassing van de voorraadparameters voor enkele duizenden artikelen mogelijk, wat resulteerde in een voorraadvermindering van $9,0 miljoen terwijl de beoogde serviceniveaus werden gehandhaafd.
