Press Release Two Supply Chain Publications Choose Smart Software for 2010 Top Honors
Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Inbound Logistics Select Smart Software for Top 100 Lists
Belmont, Mass., June 1, 2010 - Smart Software, Inc., provider of
industry-leading demand forecasting, planning, and inventory optimization
solutions, today announced that two supply chain industry publications,
Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Inbound Logistics, have
chosen the company to be on their "Top 100" lists for the fifth and sixth years,
respectively. The listings recognize Smart Software as a leader in its
industry domain, and highlight the company's strengths in technical innovation
and the ability to meet customers' needs.
For the fifth time, Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine chose
Smart Software for its annual "Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100"
published in its May/June 2010 issue. This year the magazine focused the
criteria for its "100" feature on supply chain excellence and preparing the
supply chain for the post-recessionary return to growth.
"As the economy makes tentative steps toward recovery and growth, our readers
are turning to Supply & Demand Chain Executive to learn about
solutions and best practices for enabling business expansion through supply
chain excellence," said Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain
Executive. "With this year's Supply & Demand Chain
Executive 100, we highlight a broad range of supply chain solution and
service providers that are helping to position their customers for the 'New
Normal' economic environment."
As part of the evaluation process, Smart Software cited the key challenges
facing its customers in the next few years, including the desire to better
understand demand trends and signals, and the need to improve service levels by
properly balancing inventories. Smart also explained how companies that
strive for supply chain excellence will need to optimize scarce resources to
take advantage of the right business opportunities and accurately predict demand
trends and their effect on supply chain planning decisions. As part of its
entry, Smart reported how two customers benefited from the use of
SmartForecasts®, its demand forecasting, planning, and inventory
optimization system, in accomplishing those goals.
In its April 2010 issue, Inbound Logistics' editors recognized 100
logistics IT companies that support and enable logistics excellence.
Chosen from more than 300 companies, the Top 100 Logistics IT Providers
selected demonstrate leadership by answering Inbound Logistics readers' needs
for simplicity, ROI, and efficient implementation.
"Inbound Logistics is proud to honor Smart Software for innovative
solutions empowering logistics and supply chain excellence," said Felicia
Stratton, editor of Inbound Logistics. "Every April for the past 15
years, Inbound Logistics editors have recognized 100 logistics IT
companies that support and enable logistics and supply chain excellence.
Smart Software excels at providing solutions that drive supply chain
excellence and was recognized by Inbound Logistics editors for leading
the way in 2010. Editors sought to match readers' fast-changing needs to
the capabilities of those companies selected."
"As the economy improves, the need for effective demand planning and
inventory optimization solutions is increasingly important" said Charles Smart,
president and CEO of Smart Software. "The awards from these two
well-respected publications recognize our role in helping our customers position
themselves for future growth with solutions that help them better plan demand,
balance inventories, and improve cash flows in these challenging times."
